Our Mission
Soldiers2Scientists is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding veteran participation in outdoor Citizen Science projects. We have partnered with park rangers, veteran organizations, conservation groups, universities, and a community of donors to organize and fund activities where veterans take part in important research such as ecological observation, natural conservation, and historical preservation.
Our work began in 2013, and we seek to support veterans seeking engaging outdoor recreation, career advancement, or those struggling with post-deployment transitions. Our purpose is to provide goal-oriented volunteer opportunities, believing these projects offer veterans a chance to experience exclusive access to our national parks and public lands while continuing their service to the country in a new way. We offer opportunities such as single day projects, multi-day expeditions, and internships with local universities, scientists, and researchers.

Our goal is to connect US military Veterans and Active-Duty personnel with engaging citizen science projects and outdoor recreation at National Parks, National Forests, and Sentinel Landscapes.
