Join Forces with Soldiers2Scientists!

Every donation S2S receives helps us on our mission to support veterans throughout the United States. Your donations support our citizen science programs and our nationwide partnerships with National Parks. Our goal is to provide a variety of opportunities, benefits, and experiences for veterans, from single day projects to multiweek EcoRecon Expeditions. Thank you for your time and consideration. Your support makes our mission possible. If you would like to speak with our team directly, please consider contacting us at soldiers2scientists@gmail.com.

Why Support S2S?

  • We collaborate with national park biologists, federal and state wildlife commissions, science organizations, and conservation communities to identify valuable and engaging projects to offer veterans, allowing them to participate and contribute directly to important efforts protecting and preserving our wildlife and natural resources.

  • Our programs offer exclusive experiences that not only provide all the benefits to wellbeing of outdoor recreation, but they also add supportive Structure, Community, and Purpose that are so important to veterans in all stages of post-service life. Projects exist for all ages and accessibility levels.

  • Endorsed by medical doctors, park officials, land coordinators, and mental health care providers, Soldiers2Scientists is also an approved partner of the VA’s Veteran Health Organization and SOCOM’s Care Coalition’s Career Transition Fellowship. Our outreach also extends to educational workshops and community events with local VFWs and American Legions.

  • We work with veterans across the country to customize programs tailored to each individual’s interest and location, connecting them with leading scientists, critical research, and a variety of pathways to get involved.

  • Professionally, Michael Cohn worked as Director of Operations and Internship Coordinator for an national Security Graduate School in DC, supported joint force teams with cultural and social intelligence in Afghanistan, and has also served as a strategic analyst for the Army’s Research, Development, and Engineering Command. He has built his own successful for-profit technology business, patenting and developing software to assist mental health care providers in assessments, treatments, and monitoring risk factors for depression and suicide in at-risk populations.

  • We are a registered 501(c)(3), Tax Exempt Nonprofit Organization. We’ve raised and self-funded 25,000 dollars to support or programs thus far. Funds have only been applied to supporting travel for outreach, partner development, project support, and our flagship EcoRecon National Park Expedition.
