Citizen Science Spotlight

In partnering with the rangers at Great Basin National Park, the S2S team was given a glimpse into the hard work these men and women complete everyday to safeguard the natural resources and animal habitats of this rugged western park. From Electrofishing to monitor the health of river trout, to analyzing benthic macroinvertebrate’s to better understand the food source of the fish, to observing and assisting in surgery on a rattlesnake, everyone learned a great deal about what is necessary to protect the inhabitants and their natural habitats. Getting involved in citizen science is key to learning more about the distinct habitats in which we live, and Soldiers2Scientists is committed to facilitating experiences where volunteers can get involved and make a meaningful difference at National Parks and other special conservation lands. We are committed to funding more of these Expeditions in the future and getting more military veterans involved in order to further the important mission of protecting wildlife and their natural habitats. Please consider supporting us in funding more of these trips and contact us to learn more about our work in Virginia, Nevada, Ohio, and Florida. Every dollar donated gives veterans a chance to experience the great outdoors while making a significant conservation impact. Thanks for learning more about the the 2024 Eco-Recon Expedition at Great Basin National Park.
