S2S joins bird banding at Cuyahoga Valley National Park

The CVNP Citizen Science team in action!

This past June, S2S Executive Director Michael Cohn visited Mariamar Gutierrez and here citizen science team at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The team went bird banding, and Mike earned some first hand experience. He hopes to earn his own bird banding permit in the New York Area. Cuyahoga Valley National Park has a storied history of successful citizen science engagement with some of their projects having 30 years worth of data. S2S is currently working with CVNP to better understand their projects and consider ways to build more volunteer engagement at the park. S2S hopes to build a program where local veterans can come to the park to see all this it has to offer from citizen science to meaningful recreation.
