S2S joins Project Owl Net Team in Bergton, Virginia to band Saw-Whet Owls

S2S director Michael Cohn attended a banding session with Project Owl Net at their banding station in Bergton, Virginia. Mike was joined by Ali Lewis and her children, and the team learned a great deal about the Saw-Whet Owl. Ben Spory and his Project Owl Net Team were enthusiastic teachers who taught the S2S team about the different tools used to evaluate the health of the owls. The Saw-Whet Owl is a special and spunky bird, and the S2S team was thrilled to learn more about them. Ben Spory and his team bird the owls during the month of November, and S2S plans to take more veterans out in 2025 to learn about Ben’s important work protecting these wonderful creatures.
